Millbrae’s Huge Victory Proves That We Can Win Locally
Two liberal council members were unseated in a recall from the Millbrae City Council for not being aligned with the will of the voters. The County wanted to purchase a hotel to house the homeless in Millbrae & most Millbrae residents were not in favor of this. Not only did they feel it would bring problems to their city, but they would also lose hundreds of thousands in hotel tax revenues. Additionally, the people of Millbrae would have been on the hook for paying police protection on a property that would no longer bring anymore tax revenue. Here are the results:
Shall Angelina Cahalan be recalled from the office of Council Member of District 2? YES: 724 Votes 70.91%, NO: 297 Votes 29.09%
Shall Maurice Goodman be recalled from the office of Council Member of District 4? YES: 1,250 Votes 77.50%, NO: 363 Votes 22.50%
The San Mateo County Republican Party supported this recall effort and made ourselves available to the recall leaders.
