Gus Mattamal

Gus Mattammal is running for the US 14th Congressional district seat being vacated by Jackie Speier. Gus is committed to building a vibrant Republican party that of-fers a conservative vision and conservative policies with broad appeal across the political spectrum. He came of age in the 1980s when Reagan won 49 states with exactly that strategy.

Gus says that everyone, whether liberal or conservative, should be concerned that California has been a one-party state for almost a generation, and that it’s up to our party—working with conservatives, liberals, and independents alike—to offer Californians a compelling alternative. He is committed to that vision.

Gus, who grew up in inner-city St. Louis, came to California by way of New York. He is an educator by profession and is the director of Advantage Testing, a national tutoring service that provides academic tutoring and test preparation from high school through graduate school. Gus lives in Half Moon Bay with his wife Jill and their dog Dixie.

Peter Ohtaki

Peter Ohtaki is running for the US 16th Congressional district seat being vacated by Anna Eshoo. Peter is a Menlo Park businessman and served as a City Councilman as well as Mayor of Menlo Park. He graduated from Harvard with a B.A. in Economics and then returned to California to earn an M.B.A. from Stanford.

He has had many accomplishments in the community, balancing Menlo Park’s budget in multiple years, reducing pension liability, and supporting housing and downtown businesses.

His platform includes local control of housing and preservation of neighborhoods; com-batting rising inflation; ad-dressing traffic congestion in Silicon Valley with grade crossings and cross-bay rail transit; the problem of treating smash-and-grab looting as a misdemeanor; addressing foreign policy challenges from Russia over Ukraine to China over Hong Kong and Taiwan. Peter aims to change the partisan gridlock in D.C.
